Wisconsin-native turned drag-superstar Trixie Mattel has a new show coming to HGTV in the summer of 2024.
“Trixie Motel: Drag Me Home” will follow Trixie and her partner David Silver as they buy and renovate their Los Angeles dream home.
The show will be produced by Drew and Jonathan Scott of the “Property Brothers.” The brothers were also producers on the Trixie Motel Discovery+ show that aired in 2022 following Trixie and David as they renovated a Palm Springs motel into a glamorous Barbie-esque dream.

“’Trixie Motel’ quickly became a fan favorite program tapping into the outrageous vision that Trixie and David brought to life while also showing the sweet dynamic of their real-life relationship,” said Loren Ruch, HGTV’s head of content in the press release. “Now we’ll get to check in on the couple’s progress as motel proprietors and watch them navigate the highs and lows of a personal renovation project while moving in together for the first time.”
In 2021, Mattel became co-owner of This Is It, the popular Milwaukee gay bar that hosts drag shows four days a week.
When Brian Firkus (AKA Trixie Mattel) was developing the drag persona of Trixie Mattel while living in Milwaukee, he frequented the bar. This Is It was one of the places Mattel would perform when honing her talents in the Milwaukee drag scene.
Even before becoming a co-owner, Mattel would host after-parties at the bar when her tour was in town, make appearances for different events and praise the bar in interviews, citing it as one of the important places in her personal history.
“Trixie Motel: Drag Me Home” will air four hour-long episodes next summer on HGTV.
