Milwaukee Beer Week
Catch the tail end of Milwaukee Beer Week, which runs through Saturday, April 29. The lineup is so robust, the organizers have released an app to help you keep track of your schedule. You might as well fill your entire calendar with beer-related revelry (or continue reading!).

Entertain all five of your senses this Friday, April 28, at this year’s Zootastic event, held at the Milwaukee County Zoo. Arrive between 5-9 p.m. and you’ll SEE the zoo animals, HEAR the zookeepers/volunteers answering questions, TOUCH items such as animal pelts and training balls, and SMELL and TASTE dinner from Noodles & Company, Fresh Thyme Farmers Market and Cedar Crest Ice Cream. Money raised on Friday night helps the Zoological Society of Milwaukee.

The childhood chapter books come to life at the Marcus Center for the Performing arts, beginning this Friday, April 28 at 7 p.m. First Stage presents Junie B. Jones is Not a Crook by Playwright, Allison Gregory. Opening night on Friday features an evening reception at the Milwaukee Youth Arts Center where attendees can mingle with the cast and crew following the performance.

Prop and Costume Sale
The Milwaukee Repertory Theater cleaned out its basement, or rather its costume and props closet. This Saturday, April 29, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. pick through the treasures of the theater including items like a mini bumper car from Assassins, a canoe bookshelf from The Foreigner, and a Yamaha GA24/12 audio console in perfect working condition. Various other costume items – shoes, accessories, fabric, materials – will be available for purchase throughout the afternoon. All sales are final.

Time, Nature, Culture, Sound
The Milwaukee Public Museum welcomes Present Music on Saturday, April 29 for an exploratory concert. Starting at 7 p.m., experience not only the sights of the museum, but also the sounds at this one-night event. Or come early for a VIP experience from 5-7 p.m.

Vinyl Release Show
Earlier this month, Zach Pietrini brought his storytelling songwriting to April’s MilMag Live event. The simple songs captivated the audience then, and now, for the retro-loving soul, the band (with Doghouse Flowers) releases the vinyl of Holding Onto Ghosts, this Friday, April 28. The show starts at 8 p.m. and costs $10 at the door.

Arte Para Todos
This four-day series brings together 90 Milwaukee bands across more than 20 venues, all in celebration of art and music. Check out the whole festival or individual shows from Thursday, April 27 – Sunday, April 30. The event, whose name means “art for everyone,” exists as a fundraiser to support local school art programs.

2017 Run 4 Water MKE Run/Walk
The temperatures are only rising in Wisconsin as spring progresses, bringing sunshine and summer. For those ready to run (or walk) in the warmth once again, on Sunday, April 30, the Sixth Annual 5k Run/Walk celebrating United Nations World Water Day starts at 9:15 a.m. at Veterans Park. Participants will trek along the lakeshore of Lake Michigan. Register in person from 4-7 p.m. at the Lakefront Colectivo, or register on race day from 7:30-9 a.m.
