Father’s Day

15 More Places to Take Your Dad This Father’s Day
Here’s our roundup of the best Father’s Day events taking place around Milwaukee this year.
Father’s Day at the Zoo
It’s time to celebrate your dad this Sunday. The Milwaukee County Zoo (10001 W. Bluemound Rd.) is offering free admission to dads beginning at 9 a.m.

Wisconsin Beer Lovers Festival
Can there ever be too many beer festivals? We don’t think so. The Wisconsin Beer Lovers Festival returns on Saturday, June 15, starting at 1 p.m. at the Bayshore Town Center (5800 N. Bayshore Dr.). There will be plenty of Wisconsin brewers there to showcase classic brews as well as new ones to try. General admission tickets are still available online.

Polish Fest
It’s finally festival season in Milwaukee, and the annual Polish Fest is back. Polish Fest takes place from Friday, June 14, through Sunday, June 16, pretty much all day at the Summerfest grounds (200 N. Harbor Dr.). Whether you’re Polish or not, there are plenty of activities for all, including a youth piano competition, cultural events, daily attractions, vodka tastings, live music and more.

Guitar City Days
If there’s one combination Milwaukee loves, it’s beer and music. Raised Grain Brewing Company (1725 Dolphin Dr.) hosts the first annual Guitar City Days on Friday, June 14, and Saturday, June 15, at 3 p.m. The two-day event will celebrate all things music and beer by tapping new brews, five different live music acts, plenty of barbecue, arts and crafts and more.

Ray’s Anniversary Party
An anniversary is the perfect reason to throw a party. Ray’s Growler Gallery turns five and wants to celebrate with everyone. The Growler Gallery’s fifth anniversary party takes place on Saturday, June 15, from 3 to 10 p.m. Expect to taste nearly ten taps and lots of birthday cake. Try some new brews and maybe even find a new favorite.
The Rooftop MKE Grand Opening
With all the new developments to Milwaukee’s skyline, there are now even more ways to take in the beautiful views. Join Milwaukee’s newest rooftop bar, The Rooftop MKE (1130 N. 9th St.) with a grand opening party on Friday, June 14, beginning at 4 p.m. and going all night long. The first 200 guests get a free glass of champagne and everyone can experience multiple DJs, the beer garden, Glass and Griddle and more.

Free Boat Rides and Happy Hour
Yes, you read that right. Rock Bottom Restaurant and Brewery (740 N. Plankinton Ave.) will be offering 10-minute boat rides on their Retro and Donut Boats on Thursday, June 13, beginning at 3:30 p.m. Brew City Kayak will also offer free kayak rides. Take a nice ride down the Milwaukee River and then stay for a quick drink or bite to eat from Rock Bottom’s happy hour specials.

Capuchin Walk for the Hungry
Sometimes exercising for a good cause can make it more enjoyable. The Capuchin Walk for the Hungry takes place Friday, June 14, at 6 p.m. beginning at the Summerfest grounds gate (200 N. Harbor Dr.). Proceeds from the two-mile walk go to help feed, clothe and care for Milwaukee’s homeless and hungry. The registration fee also grants access to Polish Fest all weekend long.

Read and Sip Book Fair
This is the event for wine lovers as well as bookworms. The Read and Sip Book Fair takes place Saturday, June 15, starting at 5 p.m. at the Bronzeville Collective (339 W. North Ave.). The book fair will feature some of the authors of Black Authors Pop-up. Sip on some wine while browsing through the books and wine accessories for sale.
