1. “Crossing Over” Exhibition

OPENS FRIDAY | UWM UNION ART GALLERY

A new art exhibition opens at UWM this Friday. “Crossing Over” showcases work by Peck School of the Arts students who received a scholarship in 2024. Their work spans a wide range of themes and media. The exhibition runs through Dec. 11.

2. WWE Friday Night Smackdown

FRIDAY AT 6:45 P.M. | FISERV FORUM

Undisputed WWE champion Cody Rhodes (aka “The American Nightmare”) and more wrestlers will go head to head at this Friday’s smackdown. Tickets are on sale now.

3. “A Night in Greece”

FRIDAY AT 7 P.M.  | UWM PLANETARIUM

Watch the stars glow over Athens in the first showing of “A Night in Greece” at the UWM Planetarium. Planetarium Director Jean Creighton will take attendees on a tour of her hometown to visit her favorite spots. Tickets will be available at the door.

4. AfterDark: For the Culture Story Slam          

FRIDAY AT 7 P.M. | RADIO MILWAUKEE

HYFIN and Ex Fabula are hosting a night of celebrating Black and Brown voices through storytelling and poetry. Attendees can listen to folks share their stories or throw their name in for a chance to share a poem or personal story on “culture.” Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the event starts at 7 p.m. Get tickets online or at the doors. 

5. Gimme Gimme Disco

FRIDAY AT 8 P.M. | THE COOPERAGE 

It’s disco night at The Cooperage this Friday, and they’ll be playing tracks from ABBA, Bee Gees, Cher and more. Folks will be wearing their disco attire, too. Get tickets here.

6. Some Wounds Never Heal

FRIDAY AND SATURDAY AT 7:30 P.M. | MARCUS PERFORMING ARTS CENTER

Wisconsin contemporary dance company Nova Linea will make its first appearance at the Marcus Performing Arts Center for Some Wounds Never Heal. The piece explores grief and the ugly reality of loss through dance. There will be a post show talk back immediately following the performance. Get tickets here.

7. Gallery Talk: “True Story: Photography, Journalism, and the Media”

SATURDAY AT 1 P.M.  | MILWAUKEE ART MUSEUM

Spend the afternoon with Xoe Fiss, director of youth and family programs at Milwaukee Art Museum, for a gallery talk centered around the themes of current exhibition “True Story: Photography, Journalism, and the Media.” This experience is included with standard Museum admission. 

8. Milwaukee County Historical Society Annual Book Sale

SATURDAY AND SUNDAY | MILWAUKEE COUNTY HISTORICAL SOCIETY

The eighth annual MCHS book sale will have much more than just books (don’t worry, though, there will also be plenty of books). Find postcards, prints, magazines and more, with all proceeds going toward supporting the MCHS.

9. Ste Martaen Vegan Brunch Pop-Up

SUNDAY FROM 11 A.M.-3 P.M. | X-RAY ARCADE

Vegan sports fans can watch the Packers take on the Bears at this local vegan pop-up. All food is available for dine-in or takeout. Order or RSVP here.

10. Graffiti Gallery

SATURDAY AT 5 P.M. | 817 W. NATIONAL AVE.

Watch live graffiti artists, listen to live music from DJ Kenny and watch performances by Youth Move Restorative Justice at this fundraiser for Your Move MKE, an organization dedicated to building community through hip hop. Get tickets here.
