The Pfister Hotel Begins Search for Its Next Artist in Residence at Gallery Night

This Milwaukee hotel has a long history of celebrating talented artists.

As the Pfister Hotel celebrates its current Artist in Residence Nykoli Koslow at Gallery Night MKE on October 15-16, 2021, it also begins a talent search for the program’s 13th-year.

Over the years, the Artist-in-Residence program has gained notability nationally and internationally as it recognizes artists from Milwaukee and beyond through one-on-one visits, art receptions, gallery nights and other events. During the program, guests of the Pfister Hotel are encouraged to engage in the artist’s creative process and admire the work produced along the way.

Nominations are open for the 2024 Unity Awards!

Know an individual or group committed to bridging divides in our community? Nominate them for a Unity Award by Oct. 31.

“When the pandemic hit during their residency, we knew our guests would miss witnessing their process and breathtaking works of art,” said Tim Smith, managing director, and general manager of The Pfister Hotel in a press release. “Now, after captivating many visitors with inspiring pieces, we are looking forward to our next Artist in Residence who will have the opportunity to showcase their own method to our guests and the Milwaukee community as they create pieces that stand the test of time within this iconic hotel.”

A celebration of many diverse art forms has been recognized by the Artist in Residence Program, including fashion design, photography, painting, art quilting and more. For the succeeding year, the new artist will have the opportunity to take up space in the Pfister Hotel studio space. During the year-stay, the artist will also receive compensation to entertain and attract potential buyers.

The deadline to apply for the program is Monday, December 6, 2021, at 11:59 p.m. CST. Interested artists can apply online at
