The group of restaurateurs who run Three Lions Pub, Trocadero and Red Lion Pub are opening another place this fall. It’s called The Brass Alley (1023 N. Old World Third St.), and it’ll be the street-level business in a multi-use building that’ll also house Evolution Milwaukee, whose last day open to the public at its Third Ward location (233 E. Chicago St.) is this Friday, August 29.
Evolution (which no longer uses the “gastro pong” tagline) will occupy the second and third floors, as well as the rooftop, of the building on Old World Third. The business partners – who go by the name Wild Planet Hospitality Group – are shooting for an October 1 opening date for both Evolution and The Brass Alley, whose focus is New Orleans-inspired cuisine with “local, Wisconsin favorites and flare,” according to press materials. Jambalaya, po’ boys, and red beans and rice are among the planned menu items. Among the liquid options are frozen drink machines offering eight kinds of drinks. Also look for classic cocktails like the hurricane, sazerac and gin fizz. Evolution will serve food as well; Wild Planet’s executive chef Jeff Beale is creating the menus for both establishments.
The Brass Alley will also host weekly live music – from jazz to “high energy, sing-a-long style” bands.
