Inside Ten Chimneys’ Prestigious Fellowship for Veteran Stage Actors

It’s a true showbiz sanctuary.

For top veteran actors of America’s regional theaters, Ten Chimneys is the ideal summer retreat. Each year, this quaint woodland estate west of Waukesha selects eight to 10 actors for the Lunt-Fontanne Fellowship, named for the famed acting duo and original owners of the property, Alfred Lunt and Lynn Fontanne.

It’s time to pick your Milwaukee favorites for the year!

The fellows spend a week honing their craft with a master teacher – Marsha Mason, this year. Alumni include recent Oscar nominee Colman Domingo. Ten Chimneys is open for tours from May through December, but visitors become true guests during All Access Day on Aug. 2.

“You can picnic on the estate. You can swim in the swimming pool,” says president Randy Bryant. “You can really absorb the estate just as the Lunts did.” S43 W31575 Depot Rd., Waukesha.
