You Be the Judge: 50 Local Restaurants Fight for Coveted Chili Designation

WMSE’s annual Rockabilly Chili event is Sunday, March 5. Bring your cast-iron stomach and cast your vote.

WMSE Rockabilly Chili is in its 15th year. A teenager! The event, this Sunday March 5 at MSOE’s Kern Center, is perfect for all those cast-iron stomachs out there. The event brings together 50 Milwaukee restaurants, cafes and caterers in competition – yep, the judge of best heat, most unique chili, best meat, best vegetarian and others is you!

Chili competitors include McBob’s Pub & Grill, Vanguard, Beans & Barley, Motor Bar and Restaurant, SALA, Hello Falafel, Fuel Café, Story Hill BKC, Cafe CorazonComet Café, Real Chili and many more. Tickets are $12 and include four chili samples. You can buy more chili samples for $1 each. Children 10 and under are free. Purchase tickets here.

And to pass the time while you’re loading your belly with chili, there are chili pepper races (à la the Brewers Sausage Races) and a children’s activity area.

WMSE Rockabilly Chili, March 5, 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Kern Center: 1245 N. Broadway.
