Shorewood burgers and churros – get used to that scrumptious sounding combo. The Ruckus (4144 N. Oakland Ave.) is scheduled to open for public check-in this Wednesday, Jan. 18. The tagline for the restaurant-across-from-Metro Market is a “spicy twist on the classic burger and ice cream joint.” The menu lists six quarter-pound burger creations, including the “Ruckus,” made with a pork chorizo and beef patty, bacon, grilled pineapple, lettuce, tomato, salsa and house sauce, plus an optional egg ($5.75-$8.50). Other burger options feature ground chicken and soy chorizo.
More? And how. Fries, Usinger hot dogs, churro pastries served with dipping sauces (spiced fudge, salted caramel, peanut butter) and ice cream in a cone, cup, shake, float or “Saturdae” – Ruckus lingo for a sundae. Incidentally, churro crumble is one of the toppings you can get on your cup or cone of ice cream. Drinks on draft range from beer (Spotted Cow, Riverwest Stein) to root beer to Colectivo cold brew.
Wednesday’s opening burger time is 10:30 a.m. Open until 10 p.m. Synchronize your watches…
