The Milwaukee Public Market (400 N. Water St.) will step up its brew game this summer with a new seasonal “beer patio.”
The result of a partnership with Shorewood’s Draft & Vessel, the patio will be served by a 1941 Ford pickup truck with eight draft lines, as well as a sidewalk seating area. It will be located outside the market along St. Paul Avenue in the Third Ward.
The patio will serve local drafts, none of which are on tap inside the market, and a Twisted Path Distillery custom cocktail. For guests under 21, root beer (from Potosi Brewing Company) and kombucha will be among the patio’s non-alcoholic options.
“We thought it best to look outside the market building and build on the energy of one of the most vibrant corners in the Third Ward neighborhood,” Public Market Executive Director Paul Schwartz says in the announcement of the patio.
This beer patio is part of a larger expansion for Draft & Vessel, which is planning to add a bar in Wauwatosa in addition to its first location at 4417 N. Oakland Ave.

A classic 1941 Ford pickup with eight draft lines will pour the beer; a signature Twisted Path cocktail will be in the offing, too.
