Pilcrow Now Serving Cold Brew Coffee via ‘Nitro Bike’

Pilcrow is peddling (and pedaling) their smooth cold brews on the go around Downtown Milwaukee.

Pilcrow, the new coffee roaster in town (1739 N. Dr. Martin Luther King Dr.), now has some sweet rides ferrying cold-brew coffee in and around the city, selling cold brews to thirsty passersby via bicycle cart. Owner Ryan Hoban’s rad brew is thick, full-bodied and foamy.

Hoban says as long as there’s demand for them, his nitro bikes will be positioned up and down Water and Wisconsin Avenues and in and around the Third and Fifth wards Monday-Friday, 7 a.m.-3 p.m. On the weekends, the bikes will mine the lakefront, pretty much going where the festivals and pop-ups are stationed. We spotted one of his bikes this morning parked outside the Chase Bank building on the corner of Water and Wisco.

If you don’t catch up with the bikes, Hoban – who offers subscription service for his roasts – opens up the tasting room in his space on the weekends for drip and tap coffee service (Sat-Sun, roughly 10 a.m.-2 p.m.)

Milwaukee native Hoban started Pilcrow last November after a stint working at Chicago roaster Ipsento
