Milwaukee Magazine hosted more than 250 local leaders for a celebration of six amazing women.

On Dec. 4, a capacity crowd gathered to celebrate Milwaukee Magazine‘s seventh annual Betty Awards at Saint Kate – The Arts Hotel. The event highlighted the stories and accomplishments of this year’s Betty Award honorees and the enduring legacy of the magazine’s founding publisher, Betty Ewens Quadracci

Mayor Cavalier Johnson kicked off the event, honoring this year’s remarkably accomplished winners: Bridget Whitaker, Safe & Sound; Linda Mellowes, fundraiser and philanthropist; Laura Gutiérrez, United Community Center; Peggy Williams-Smith, Visit Milwaukee; Ellen Friebert Schupper, ABCD: After Breast Cancer Diagnosis; and Linda Edelstein, Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra.

Architects, interior designers, renovators and landscapers: Submit your best work for consideration!

Saint Kate – The Arts Hotel has partnered with Milwaukee Magazine to host the Betty Awards luncheon since its inception. Locker’s Florist provided floral arrangements for the event. And LionArt Media created videos highlighting each honoree, available to view here

“Each of today’s honorees is creating something that will ripple far beyond their job description or their title,” said Carole Nicksin, editor-in-chief and publisher of Milwaukee Magazine. “They are building a Milwaukee where women lead boldly, where communities thrive and where possibility keeps expanding.”

Our thanks to the event’s presenting sponsor Quad, premiere sponsors Aon, Baird, City of Hope, Moxie Medspa, Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra; and supporting sponsors ABCD: After Breast Cancer Diagnosis, the Milwaukee Admirals, Faye’s, Rogers Behavioral Health Foundation, the Medical College of Wisconsin, the Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design, Milwaukee World Festival, Inc., PNC Bank, Safe & Sound the United Community Center and Visit Milwaukee for making the event possible.

We look forward to seeing you next year!
