Milwaukee Theater Week Returns for Its Third Year

There’ll be 10 days of performances, pop-ups and community events to celebrate Milwaukee’s vibrant arts scene.

From Oct. 10-19, Milwaukee Theater Week is offering discounts, performances and even fish fry tacos to celebrate Milwaukee’s performance arts scene.

Since its founding in 2022, the Milwaukee Theater District has represented 16 venues and performing arts organizations, along with five supporting partners. Its signature event, Milwaukee Theater Week, now in its third year, has become a city-wide celebration spotlighting the city’s vast live entertainment offerings and integrating them into everyday life.

Here are a few Theater Week events to check out this week.

Haunted Tales of the Milwaukee Theater District: In collaboration with City Tours MKE, Milwaukee Theater District is offering haunted walking tours. Guests will explore the lores and legends of three different landmark theaters in the district, and if you’re a true horror fan, you can feel the paranormal energy yourself with provided divining rods. The events run throughout theater week and also on Oct. 31 and Nov. 1.

Center Stage Savasana, Free Sunrise Yoga at the Miller High Life Theatre: On Tuesday, Oct. 14 at 7 a.m., The Wisconsin Center District is hosting Center Stage Savasana, a free yoga experience for folks of all experience levels on the Miller High Life Theatre stage. Space is limited, so be sure to register here.

It’s Alive! At Gallery Night with Skylight Music Theatre: Enjoy a free live performance from actor and singer Shawn Holmes outside of the Skylight Music Theatre. The event starts at 6 p.m. during Gallery Night on Oct. 17.

Vagabond’s Curtain Call Combo: In celebration of theater week, Vagabond MKE will be serving a themed dish and drink. The “Les Fishérable Taco” turns the classic Wisconsin fish fry into a taco. This is paired with Vagabond’s exclusive Happy Days on Stage apple cider margarita. The combo is available until the end of October.

Opening Night performance of Switzerland at Renaissance Theaterworks: At the conclusion of Milwaukee Theater week, Renaissance Theaterworks will be premiering the psychological thriller Switzerland. Your ticket purchase automatically includes a reception with the film’s cast, crew, and design team. The screening will be at 5 p.m. on Oct. 17.

The “Best Seats in MKE” are returning once again from now until Oct. 20. These public exhibitions feature authentic seats from Milwaukee Rep’s 1988 Powerhouse Theater, placed throughout the city. This year, the seats are featured in three new locations. Here’s where you can find the selfie-worthy seats:
