Milwaukee Karaoke Guide: Best Spots for Each Day of the Week

This is your guide to the best spots to partake in Milwaukee’s favorite musical pastime.

As with most metropolitan areas these days, Milwaukee has a litany of bars offering excellent karaoke nights. Though it is by no means comprehensive, this list highlights a few karaoke night standouts.

(Almost) Anytime

The High Note

645 N. James Lovell St.

When: Wednesday-Saturday, 9 p.m.-2 a.m.

Though it’s not open 24/7, The High Note welcomes earnest renditions of nostalgic 90s throwbacks and 2000s hits every Wednesday through Saturday. Heralded as Milwaukee’s only karaoke bar, it excels at its primary function — keeping drinks flowing as your friends make fools of themselves on stage.

Landmark Lanes

2220 N. Farwell Ave.

When: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9 p.m.

Head to “Milwaukee’s entertainment destination” twice a week for Karaoke with Rockin’ Roy.

Nomad World Pub

1401 E. Brady St.

When: Tuesdays, 9 p.m.-1 a.m.

Marketed by a technicolor unicorn, Nomad’s karaoke night certainly raises expectations. Think passionate versions of popular hits fueled by good ol’ liquid courage. Those who kick butt at karaoke may or may not also get a free ride from a unicorn.

Oak & Shield Gaming Pub

600 E. Ogden Ave.

When: Wednesdays, 9 p.m.-1 a.m.

At Milwaukee’s nerdiest bar (formerly 42 Lounge, now incorporated into Oak & Shield’s basement), you’ll find no judgement when you want to sing classics from comic book films, like “Hooked on a Feeling” from Guardians of the Galaxy. While you’re waiting to sing, guzzle down one of their themed drinks inspired by nerdy franchises like Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter.

The Up and Under Pub

1216 E. Brady St.

When: Wednesdays, 9:30 p.m.-2 a.m.

At Up and Under, you’ll test your vocal chops on a stage where local bands perform weekly. Don’t let your nerves get to you — but if they do, try out one of their affordable cherry bombs.

Milwaukee Ale House

233 N. Water St.

When: Thursdays, 9 p.m.-2 a.m.

Known for their beer and cheesy dishes, Milwaukee Ale House also excels in the karaoke space. Though it might be a bit more chill than others on this list, karaoke at this bar and grill is as enjoyable as a hot cheese curd on a cold winter’s day.

Miss Katie’s Diner

1900 W. Clybourn St.

When: Thursdays, 9 p.m.-2 a.m.

Though it is primarily populated by Marquette students, Thursday karaoke nights at Miss Katie’s can still be a blast, with a diner style that lends the place a classic ambiance.

Hamburger Mary’s

730 S. 5th St.

When: Thursday-Friday, 11 p.m.-2 a.m.

While it might not be as wild as a karaoke night at a club like Mi-Key’s, Hamburger Mary’s offers arcade games to enjoy while you wait for your next song, as well as a large selection of craft beers, cocktails and bar food.

Rounding Third Bar & Grill

6317 W. Bluemound Rd.

When: Friday-Saturday, 9:45 p.m.-2 a.m.

Karaoke night at a sports bar sounds like a recipe for many a “We Are the Champions” rendition, but trust us, Rounding Third boasts a wide song variety while serving pints of your favorite draughts.

724 E. Layton Ave.

When: Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 9 p.m.-2 a.m.

Along with excellent pizza, Amelia’s offers an array of fantastic karaoke nights. Located just outside Bay View, this bar and pizzeria keeps the beer flowing and people singing catchy songs, whether they be tone deaf or tuneful.
