Wisconsin’s new ultra-secure driver’s license.

Canadian Bank Note, the Ottawa company that prints its country’s paper money, has designed a new ultra-secure driver’s license for Wisconsin that features a laser-engraved photo, an ultraviolet Department of Transportation logo and the driver’s name printed in three different styles.

Primarily a white and black affair, the new cards entered circulation in October and won’t have completely replaced the old ones until 2023.

‘Laser Mugs’ appears in the January 2016 issue of Milwaukee Magazine.
