The Third Ward’s Kimpton Journeyman Hotel (310 E. Chicago St.) is expected to open in June. And a Midwest-reared chef well known to Chicago diners is set to helm both the hotel restaurant, named Tre Rivali, and the rooftop bar and lounge called The Outsider. That chef is Heather Terhune, who’s opened two Chicago restaurants (Atwood and Sable Kitchen & Bar) and appeared as a contestant on Bravo’s “Top Chef.” Her most recent executive chef stint was at BDK Restaurant & Bar in San Francisco.
The menu at Tre Rivali is described as Mediterranean-inspired modern American (using locally sourced ingredients and following seasonal dictates). Menu inclusions: wood-fired pizzas, fresh pastas and wood-grilled meats and fish.
The rooftop Outsider will be set nine stories above-ground and feature retractable glass walls so that it can be utilized year-round.
Updates to come.
