August 15: The Claudettes
Another week, another awesome live music act at Jazz in the Park in Cathedral Square Park. This Thursday, August 15 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., we’ll hear from Chicago-based multi-genre band The Claudettes.
This group fuses Chicago piano blues with rockabilly, punk and 60s soul to write a thrilling new chapter in American roots music. Members include Johnny Iguana on the piano, singer Berit Ulseth, bassist and guitarist Zach Verdoorn and drummer Michael Caskey.
Iguana toured for years with the cult-favorite rock band oh my god and is also a member of Grammy nominated groups Chicago Blues: A Living History and the Muddy Waters 100 Band.
Listen to a song from their 2018 album “Dance Scandal at the Gymnasium!” below.
