How a Local Photographer Captured This Stunning City Hall Shot

This local landmark was once the tallest habitable building in the world.

Photographer Mike Miller describes City Hall as “an iconic architectural masterpiece that epitomizes Milwaukee.” Though the autumnal palette of this shot suggests fall, he captured it at the peak of summer.

He was at a Rainbow Summer performance outside the Marcus Performing Arts Center when the setting sun began shifting the pink-brown brick and terra cotta exterior of the 1895 skyscraper toward gold and orange.

“As a professional commercial photographer, I’m constantly chasing the light,” Miller says. “Milwaukee is a beautiful city with so much to offer. I never feel like I’m working. I love it.”
