Have You Seen This East Side Resident Alida LaCosse?

A local music teacher and East Side resident, Alida LaCosse, was reported missing earlier this week.

Alida LaCosse, a 57-year-old music teacher with a strong connection to both the Madison and Milwaukee music scenes, has been missing since Tuesday morning.

Alida’s daughter, Tazren, said good-bye to her mom as she headed out to work just before 6:30 a.m. from their home on the East Side. Alida left their home for work later in the morning. She was wearing all black clothing and left in her gray Mazda, license plate number ADM2532.

Tazren says there was nothing unusual in her mom’s behavior before she left. A recent tip came from someone who claimed to see Alida around 10 a.m. that morning at Coffeetails (1506 N. Van Buren St. on the East Side). Tazren says Alida mentioned she was scheduled to work that day at a school near 76th St and Good Hope Road, but she didn’t mention which one. A missing person’s report was filed with the police.

A flyer has been shared hundreds of times on social media, including by many of her students.

Among other awards, LaCosse was named “2021 Music Teacher of the Year” at the Madison Area Music Association Awards and has played with groups like The Periodicals.

If you have any information about LaCosse’s whereabouts, please call the Milwaukee Police Department, her daughter Tazren LaCosse (414) 617-1044 or family friend Kiera Hilton (414) 233-7545.
