8 Hanukkah Events Coming Up in Milwaukee

Hanukkah on the Hoan, Chanukah Festival of Lights and Gelt Drop, and more are coming up.

1. Community Hanukkah Celebration

 DEC. 16 FROM 4:30-6 P.M. | HARRY & ROSE SAMSON FAMILY JCC

Get ready for Hanukkah at the Jewish Community Center annual community-wide celebration. Attendees can plan out the eight nights of Hanukkah, create a Hanukkah travel kit for winter break vacations and connect with the community over crafts, activities, mitzvah projects and entertainment.


It’s time to pick your Milwaukee favorites for the year!

 

2. J-Pride Happy Hour: Exhibit Tour & Talk

DEC. 19 FROM 5:30-7 P.M. | JEWISH MUSEUM MILWAUKEE

J-Pride, a LGBTQ outreach and inclusion initiative of the Milwaukee Jewish Federation, is partnering with Jewish Museum Milwaukee to host a happy hour, talk and tour of their current exhibition, Against the Grain: The Remarkable Life of Artist Bernard Perlin. Tickets are $9.

3. Latkes Con Salsa: A Latin Jazz Hanukkah

DEC. 20-22, TIMES VARY | BEST PLACE AT THE HISTORIC PABST BREWERY

This Holiday show celebrates the Festival of Lights with a Latin twist. Lakes Con Salsa is set to spin Hanukkah and holiday hits with Afro-Latino rhythms.

4. NextGen Hanukkah

DEC. 21 FROM 7:30-10 P.M. | THE IRON HORSE HOTEL

NextGen MKE is hosting a night of live music, photo booths, menorahs and mixtapes. Tickets are $50 online or at the door, if space permits. NextGen events are for individuals ages 22- to 45-years old.

5. Hanukkah on the Hoan

DEC. 25-JAN. 1, TIMES VARY | THE DANIEL M. HOAN MEMORIAL BRIDGE

Each night of Hanukkah this year the Hoan Bridge will be lit as a menorah in partnership of the Milwaukee Jewish Federation and Light the Hoan. The bridges beams will light up each night in a way that incorporates the design of the eight-candle Hanukkah menorah. 

6. Hanukkah with the Admirals

DEC. 30 AT 7 P.M. | UW-MILWAUKEE PANTHER ARENA

Celebrate Hanukkah on ice with the Milwaukee Admirals. A portion of each ticket sold will support JCC Wisconsin Delegation that are traveling to the 2025 Maccabi Games. Tickets are $20 and available for purchase online.

7. Chanukah Festival of Lights and Gelt Drop

Dec. 29 AT 4 P.M. | THE YARD @ BAYSHORE

This event will feature an interactive LED light experience including robot dancers, glow games, illuminates swings, a glow dreidel lounge, train rides and much more to celebrate Chanukah.

8. CBINT Hanukkah Dinner

DEC. 29 AT 5:30 P.M. | CONGREGATION BETH ISRAEL NER TAMID

All ages are welcome, and no experience is needed to help retell the Hanukkah story with the Congregation Beth Israel Ner Tamid community at this annual dinner. Tickets are $25 for adults and $12 for kids.
