Summer has officially begun, and Postmates knows how to celebrate.
To honor the beginning of summer, delivery app Postmates teamed up with NationalToday.com to survey 2,000 Americans about their favorite summer snacks. Their findings concluded that hamburgers (69%) beat hot dogs (55%) as the most craved summer food. Steak (49%), barbecued chicken (46%) and ribs (44%) came in 3rd, 4th and 5th, respectively.
Further findings included hot dog and burger topping preferences. The most popular fixing Americans love on their hot dogs is hardly surprising – ketchup! As Wisconsinites, we love our cheese. And when it comes to burger toppings, America is no different. Eighty-two percent of Americans chose cheese as their favorite burger add-on.
While there’s no doubt Milwaukee means serious business when it comes to burgers, it turns out that we love our hot dogs just a little more. Out of America’s top hot dog-loving cities, Milwaukee ranks #29, while in the burger-loving cities index, Milwaukee ranks #39.
Whether you prefer burgers or hot dogs, you’re in luck if you haven’t yet downloaded the Postmates app. To celebrate the Summer Solstice, Postmates is delivering free hamburgers or hot dogs to residents of more than 100 cities who download the app and order throughout the first week of summer (Tuesday, June 20, through Sunday, June 25). Add a hamburger or hot dog to your cart from any listed local or chain restaurant, then use the code “SUMMERSUN” to get it for free.
