What started as a phoenix rising from the ashes of Grammy-winning Nickel Creek has taken on a life of its own. Punch Brothers is grounded in classic bluegrass – with mandolin maestro and 2012 MacArthur Genius awardee Chris Thile as its core – but don’t pigeonhole this New York City-based quintet.
