From kid-friendly museum activities to zine-making, there’s plenty of family-friendly activities for spring break week.

Gearing up for a spring break staycation? From dance parties to baseball, pool time to arts and crafts, there’s no shortage of special events to coax you and the kids out of the house this week. 

Betty Brinn Children’s Museum: Big League Fun

ONGOING | 929 E. WISCONSIN AVE., MILWAUKEE

Here’s a curveball the kids won’t see coming: baseball meets STEM. Betty Brinn’s Big League Fun special exhibit explores the science and math behind America’s favorite pastime. Help keep score or check out the press box to practice number recognition, simple math and storytelling. Training simulations engage gross motor skills as little leaguers learn to pitch, bat, catch and throw. Learn more here.

Radio Milwaukee: Kids Disco

SATURDAYS FROM 9 TO 10 A.M. | TUNE INTO 88.9 FM

Turn the living room into a Kids Disco with Radio Milwaukee. Celebrate the weekend and get the wiggles out on Saturday mornings with DJ Dori Zori and her hour-long mix of music for the whole family. All it takes is the FM dial.

The Bavarian Bierhaus: Kid Boogie Down

MARCH 28, 11 A.M. TO 2 P.M. | 700 W LEXINGTON BLVD., GLENDALE

Dance ’til you drop at the season finale of the Kid Boogie Down, Bavarian Bierhaus edition. Admission is $12 for kids (babies free) and $6 for adults. Lights and lasers, music videos and a sea of bubbles set the vibe, and balloon animals and water tattoos are on the house. Feed your littles lunch with a kid-friendly menu and cotton candy from Sugar Spun. Find more information here

Milwaukee Art Museum: Play Date

MARCH 28, 10 A.M. TO 1 P.M | 700 N. ART MUSEUM DR., MILWAUKEE

Ready for your close-up? Kids 5 and under (with an adult) are invited to make a portrait inspired by the work of Roy Lichtenstein. Budding artists will explore patterns to create their own picture with lines, dots and squiggles. Be sure to sing loud at the 11 a.m. and 12 p.m. sing-alongs. This is a monthly drop-in experience, included with Museum admission. Kids 12 and under always receive free admission, thanks to an anonymous donor.

Milwaukee Brewers: Home Games

MULTIPLE DATES AND TIMES | 1 BREWERS WAY, MILWAUKEE

Take the kids out to the ballgame. The Brewers host the White Sox March 28-29, and the Rays March 30 through April 1. On Sunday, March 29, kids cheer free! The first three Sunday home games of the season are no-charge for fans 14 and under, with the purchase of an adult Terrace Level ticket. Milwaukee Central Library: Feminism and the Art of Zine Making

MARCH 28, 1:30 TO 3:30 P.M. | 814 W WISCONSIN AVE., MILWAUKEE

This one’s for the teens, ages 13+. Milwaukee Public Library is teaming up with Lion’s Tooth Bookstore for a zine workshop celebrating Women’s History Month. Participants will enjoy a brief intro to the role of pamphlets and zines throughout the Feminist movement, plus a hands-on reflection on Feminism through the art of zine making. Bonus events at Central Library: ABC Academy meets Saturday, March 28, from 10:30-11:30 a.m. for young children through elementary levels. On Tuesday, March 31, teens 13+ are invited to Revolutionary Dreams, a workshop where aspiring poets will create pieces inspired by Nikki Giovanni’s work from the Black Arts Movement era. And on Wednesday, April 1, Builder’s Club meets from 4-5 p.m., providing a STEM-inspired craft for ages 6-12. View events at all Milwaukee Public Library branches here.

Pulaski Pool: Splash into Spring

MARCH 28, FROM 10 A.M. TO 4:45 P.M. | 2701 S. 16TH ST., MILWAUKEE

Dive into a full day of family fun with Splash into Spring at Pulaski Pool. At 10:30 a.m., learn essential water safety tips, and from noon to 4:45 p.m., it’s open swim. Community partners will be on hand until 12:30 p.m. to talk about upcoming programs, camps and events, including: Boerner Botanical Gardens, First Tee, Girl Scouts, Kozy Community Center, Milwaukee Public Library, Red Cross, Urban Ecology Center, Wehr Nature Center and Your Move MKE. Wonderland Bookshop: Beach Party and Books & Ballet

MARCH 28, FROM 11 A.M. TO 12 P.M. | 4001 N DOWNER AVE., SHOREWOOD 

Wonderland is hosting twice the fun on Saturday, March 28. First up, it’s a Spring Break Story Time and Beach Party from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. They’re bringing the beach to Wonderland with some favorite beach-inspired picture books and crafts. Beach outfits encouraged! Then from 3-4 p.m., it’s Books & Ballet, with performers from the Milwaukee Ballet reading an Alice in Wonderland story and leading little ones in an interactive ballet activity. The activity includes a short warm-up, ballet positions and techniques. The fun concludes with a dance game and a chance to freestyle.
Bonus: Regular story times are Tuesday and Thursday at 11 a.m., plus Saturday, April 4, will be a special Easter-themed story time with an Easter-themed book and craft. Information on all Wonderland events here.

Milwaukee Public Museum: Diorama Workshop and Showcase

MARCH 30 THROUGH APRIL 3, 2026, 10 A.M. TO 12 P.M  AND 1 P.M TO 3 P.M. (NOTE: MPM IS CLOSED ON TUESDAYS)

2026 is your last chance to visit the beloved Milwaukee Public Museum as we know it. Stop by during spring break so the kids can design their own MPM-inspired pieces to add to the museum’s communal diorama. It’s a chance to be part of the lore! From April 1 to 3, view mini dioramas created by local artists and hobbyists as part of the 10th Annual Milwaukee Diorama-RAMA Contest. More event information here.
