Madison Medical Affiliates offers a different kind of health care. While many of the massive, national providers continue to expand, Madison Medical focuses on the local. With 60 physicians and 11 locations in Southeastern Wisconsin, the organization offers a boutique approach. “The health care industry is getting really big – and the consequence of that is it’s less local, less personal,” says Brian Meuler, Madison Medical’s executive director. “At big-box health care organizations, the person who handles your bill, for example, could be part of a big remote team that might not even be in the same country as you, much less the same state. We pride ourselves on being here and offering thoughtful service. When you call us, a person will answer the phone.”

Madison Medical dates to 1903, when Dr. J.D. Madison opened his first clinic in Milwaukee. What started as a small practice has grown to encompass 11 different specialties including internal medicine, eye care, endocrinology, obstetrics and gynecology, urology, surgery and more.

“We offer a comprehensive set of services for our patients,” says Dr. James Volberding, the president of Madison Medical Affiliates. “We’re a one-stop shop for our patients. We’ve seen industry trends in health care, and we’re really trying to buck that and offer something that’s a step above.”

With locations ranging from Downtown Milwaukee to Waukesha to Mequon, Madison Medical’s team of physicians and primary care doctors have a long and established history of excellence, including nearly all being recognized by their peers in Milwaukee Magazine’s Top Doctors listing.
