Leinbach's account available free through Sunday

Want to know all about Milwaukee’s Urban Ecology Center?

Ken Leinbach, executive director of the three-campus environmental education institution, has written an account of the group, and the e-book is available free through Sunday.

Urban Ecology: A Natural Way to Transform Kids, Parks, Cities, and the World, available in book form later this year, can be downloaded here from Amazon. It’s free until midnight on Sunday, but after that will cost $7.99, says Jeff McAvoy, the UEC’s director of marketing and communications.

In an email blast about the book, which Leinbach finished on a writing sabbatical from the center, he said: “I told our story to inspire others to have hope, take action in their own neighborhoods, and maybe even get their own Urban Ecology Center up and running. You’ll see how one can start with very little and follow a set of steps to make something very real happen in one’s own community. It starts from the simplicity of getting a city kid exploring their neighborhood park.”

Milwaukee Magazine profiled Leinbach and the UEC last year.
