Just like warm, sunny weather (what is that?), Downtown Dining Week is not far from anyone’s mind. The annual festival of prix fixe menus is June 2-9. This year, 44 restaurants are in the DDW lineup, and their three-course menus are $12.50 (lunch) and $25 or $35 (dinner). Participants include Ale Asylum Riverhouse, The Brown Bottle, Carnevor, Coquette Café, Distil, Hinterland, Kanpai, Kil@wat, Mader’s, Mason Street Grill, Onesto, Rodizio Grill, Rumpus Room, The Safehouse, Smoke Shack, Water Buffalo and Zarletti.
Menus are posted on DDW’s website. What delights await you? Well… if a traditional lunch is not your thing, Club Charlie’s can set you up with three courses of liquid. One lunch scenario could start with a bloody mary, move to a martini flight, then finish with a “Naughty Girl Scout” mini martini ($12.50). For a more sustainable, filling dinner option, Carnevor’s menu features a choice of house salad or tomato basil soup; a petit filet, diver scallops or prime rib; and a chocolate sundae or crème brûlée.
