Donut Monster Is Opening Cedarburg Location

The new donut shop will open this fall.

More doughnuts! Donut Monster – which has locations in Whitefish Bay and the Third Ward – is growing. Co-owner Jackie Woods says their third location, in Cedarburg, will open sometime in October.

The site (W62 N634 Washington Ave.) is an 1870 building in the Washington Avenue Historic District, and the menu sounds very similar to Donut Monster spot in Whitefish Bay (5169 N. Elkhart Ave.). It will feature – naturally – a variety of doughnuts, and the styles range from rings to filled pastries to fritters.

The flavors change periodically but might include lemon poppy, maple bacon, salted chocolate, buttermilk with sprinkles, cherry cheesecake and vanilla chocolate buttercream. (The seasonal fritter right now is s’mores, and given that it’s almost the end of summer, its days are numbered, so consider that a warning.) There will also be sandwiches on scratch-made English muffins and a handful of coffee drinks. The hours will be Thurs-Sun 8 a.m.-1 p.m.

Doughnut Monster started as a pop-up – I remember getting their doughnuts at the old Pilcrow café in Brewers Hill. It opened its WFB shop in 2019, and launched the Third Ward bakery (at 316 N. Milwaukee St.) a year ago. The bakery also pops up at the farmers markets in ‘Tosa and Shorewood.
