On Wednesday, Milwaukee Magazine‘s Chef Event brought chefs from eight of Wisconsin’s best restaurants to Downtown Kitchen. Over 200 people enjoyed delicious small plates and heard from the chefs in an illuminating panel discussion.
The event, co-hosted by The Bartolotta Restaurants, featured chefs from many of Milwaukee’s finest restaurants: Emmanuel Corona from La Dama Mexican Kitchen and Bar; Adam Siegel from Lupi & Iris; Dana Spandet from Flour Girl & Flame; Justin Aprahamian from Sanford; Ben Nerenhausen and Staci Lopez from Allie Boy’s Bagelry & Luncheonette; and Brian Cripps from Tre Rivali.

Amanda Langler from Bartolotta’s Lake Park Bistro also prepared a dish, but was unfortunately unable to attend the event. The Bartolotta Restaurant’s Corporate Executive Chef Aaron Beckham attended in her stead.
And for the first time since the Chef Event started in 2017, the event included chefs from outside Milwaukee – James Beard Award winners Andrew Kroeger and Itaru Nagano from Madison’s Fairchild.
Milwaukee musician Gabriel Sanchez performed for the event. The evening started with a cocktail hour, featuring Palomas from Don Julio Tequila, craft beer from Bell’s Brewery, and imported wine from Ethica Wines. Crave Brothers Farmstead Cheese provided complimentary charcuterie.
For dinner, guests enjoyed eight delicious plates, including duck roulade, corzetti, vichyssoise, pork belly esquite, oxtail and beef cheek hash, aged cheddar boereg, lox bombe, and lamb shoulder tagine.
We’d also like to thank the event’s gold sponsors Potawatomi Casino Hotel and Visit Milwaukee for their help hosting the phenomenal evening. A portion of the event’s proceeds support Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin, an organization devoted to ending hunger in Wisconsin.
Below are some of our favorite photos from the event. We hope to see you next year!
