Bumstead Provisions to Host Bacon-Fueled Grand Opening

Bumstead Provisions to Host Bacon-Fueled Grand Opening

The Bay View pub, restaurant and specialty foods shop celebrates its arrival with humor, Chris Farley costumes and plenty of pig.

Bumstead Provisions (2761 S. Kinnickinnic Ave.) is putting a cheeky take on its grand opening celebration this Friday Oct. 28. The 18 months that the owners spent deflecting questions about its opening inspired the “Are They Open Yet?” title. Well, they are, and they’re serving lots of bacon and free doughnuts to capture the moment.

The establishment that boasts a deli-specialty foods shop, bar and restaurant will also have beer specials, plus $5 Moscow Mules and Tin Cup old fashioneds. Samples of meats and cheese will be available in Bumstead’s deli. And patrons are encouraged to come in costume as Chris Farley (there’s a mural homage to the late comic) or Blondie or Dagwood from the old comic strip. Those who do will get a free sandwich, beer and shot. Oct. 28, 4:30-10:30 p.m.
