In celebration of its 95th anniversary, BILTRITE Furniture-Leather-Mattress will host a Family Fun Day from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Oct. 1.
Bounce houses, face painting, balloon animals and more will be in store in the parking lot at BILTRITE’s location in Greenfield, 5430 W. Layton Ave.

“BILTRITE has been part of Milwaukee since 1928 so we wanted to say ‘thank you’ to the community for supporting us for more than nine decades. Since we’re a family business, hosting a family friendly party aligns with our brand and is a great way to express our appreciation,” said Randi Komisar Shachter, a fourth-generation family member and chief marketing officer for BILTRITE. “We’re proud to call Milwaukee home and we’re dedicated to delivering affordable, quality furniture to our customers.”
As part of its free Family Fun Day, BILTRITE will collect donations for Make-A-Wish Wisconsin and also make a direct contribution to the nonprofit.
BILTRITE will not be open for business during Family Fun Day in keeping with its long-standing tradition of being closed on Sundays.
Festivities will also include giant chess and checker boards, a DJ, Pete’s Pops for purchase and two food trucks. There will also be swag bags with BILTRITE mugs, pens and $95 gift cards, while supplies last.
BILTRITE recently was named the 2023 Retailer of the Year, for business with fewer than 50 employees by the Home Furnishings Association. The recognition is one of the industry’s most prestigious awards.
“We’re Wisconsin’s highest volume, single-location furniture and mattress store,” Schachter said.
