14 Beer Events Brewing in Milwaukee This Week: Dec. 4-7

Winter beers and winter beer activities abound this week. And a huge cheers to Kegel’s Inn for celebrating an amazing 100 years of business.

Wednesday, Dec. 4

The Milwaukee Winter Bike Party comes to Amorphic Beer (3700 N. Fratney St.) from 5:30 to 10 p.m. The event includes biking gear and info, and a dance party. One dollar from every pour will benefit Dream Bikes and Wisconsin Bike Fed.

Tess (2499 N. Bartlett Ave.) has two Freestyle Holiday Beer Dinners happening on Wednesday and Thursday (Dec. 5). The five-course meals are paired with five seasonal beers. Call 414-964-8377 to reserve a spot.

Black Husky Brewing (909 E. Locust St.) hosts a workshop to build a forest-themed candle holder. For just $15 you get all the tools you need. The crafting starts at 6 p.m.

Thursday, Dec. 5

Revolution Brewing has one of the best, if not the best, barrel programs in Chicago. They’re bringing a few of their Deep Wood Series beers to Busby’s (3475 S. Kinnickinnic Ave.). Four gems will start pouring at 3 p.m.

Señor Krampus is being released at Perspective Brewing Company (7508 W. Greenfield Ave.). The stout is made with guajillo and ancho chiles, cacoa, cinnamon, and Madagascar vanilla beans.

Try Belgian beer samples from Delirium and LaTrappe at Discount Liquor Milwaukee (5031 W. Oklahoma Ave.) from 4 to 6 p.m.

Friday, Dec. 6

The Very Merry Night Market comes to Pilot Project Brewing (1128 N. 9th St.) on Friday and Saturday from 5 to 10 p.m. More than 40 vendors will be there.

Black Husky offers another chance to be creative with a Pop Art Paint Your Pet event. The painting class costs $65 (one free beer included) and starts at 6 p.m.

At 5 p.m., Third Space Brewing (1505 W. St. Paul Ave.) releases Bah, Humbug!, a red ale spiced with cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, orange peel, and coriander. The party includes live holiday music and if you bring a toy for Hope House, your first pour is free.

Central Waters Brewing hands out samples at Discount Liquor Milwaukee from 4 to 6 p.m.

Discount Liquor Waukesha (919 N. Barstow St.) offers samples of Duvel from 3 to 5 p.m.

Saturday, Dec. 7

Kegel’s Inn (5901 W. National Ave.) celebrates 100 years with a Centennial Birthday Bash. The party begins at noon with the tapping of a free keg of Kegel Bräu Schwarzbier. They’ll also be releasing My Grandma Was a Criminal: Barrelbreaker Doppelbock, a beer brewed in collaboration with MobCraft that has been aged in Central Standard whiskey barrels with Wisconsin maple syrup. Tickets are just $15.

Santa’s Cycle Rampage means that more than 1,500 cyclists will be hitting the streets of Milwaukee. The ride starts at 9:30 a.m. at Wisconsin Bike Fed (187 E. Becher St.) but Urban Harvest Brewing (1024 S. 5th St.) hosts a pre-ride party starting at 8 a.m.

The Black Husky Brewing Christmas Party starts at noon. The festivities include Christmas music, an ugly sweater contest, and a Christmas cookie potluck. If you bring in cookies to add you get a free beer.

Saturday, Dec. 14: Amorphic Beer (3700 N. Fratney St.) celebrates three years of beer with a party that includes a pair of special beer release, food, and live music.

Wednesday, Dec. 18: The last Beer School of the year at Third Space Brewing (1505 W. St. Paul Ave.) happens at 6:30 p.m. The subject is barrel-aged beers, and class should fill up quickly.
