AC can be seen on everything from iPhone cases to magnets and greeting cards. But he’s probably most famous for being the “World’s Most Super Amazing 100% Awesome Cat” in a series of calendars entering its sixth year (2014’s theme: Magical Creatures). Turning to Kickstarter in February, Funk hoped to raise $3,500 to cover 2014 production costs and a portion of her travel expenses for the National Stationery Show. To her…

Life in a Glass Cabin

Milwaukee residents Lilah Horwitz and Nick Olson were sitting in the mountains of West Virginia watching a sunset when they had a thought: make a house with a wall of windows. “Wouldn’t it be cool if you had a house where the whole wall was windows because then you would never have to be trying to fit the sunset into one little space,” says Horwitz in a short documentary released today by web-based documentary series “Half Cut Tea.” Less than a year later, that thought was a reality. The documentary is gorgeous and features tin types, hand sewing, photography and,…

Milwaukee Downtown’s Cya Downtown Campaign

Milwaukee Downtown launched their new campaign Cya Downtown in May 2013, and the TV spots have been making the rounds on the interwebs since then. The BID uploaded four videos to their YouTube page at the end of June: two 30-second spots and two 60-second spots. Cya Downtown is the third branding campaign for Milwaukee Downtown since it started in 1998. The press materials for the campaign state the organization came up with this approach after “starting completely from scratch.” Except not quite.
