Alluring Alloy

Locally made hardware for your in-home bar.

Graduate from your college-logo barware days with these uber-sophisticated, locally made accoutrements.

Furniture maker and designer Ryan Tretow teamed up with menswear and home goods shop owner Zach Peterson to create a line of accessories, including this bottle opener ($65).

Sold at Peterson’s online shop Commonplace (commonplaceshop.com), the bottle opener and coasters ($24 each or $65 for three) are cast in bronze, a metal Tretow says they chose for its durability and because its patina changes with time.

The bottle opener’s hemisphere design and polished finish make it look just as much like a home decor piece, or a paperweight, as it does a bartending essential. And its relatively hefty weight means you need less leverage when you’re opening a bottle.

We’ll drink to that.
