Young and Old

Monday, Feb. 28: Chelsea Muench at Art Bar, 9 a.m. Not much is known about the music of Milwaukee’s own Chelsea Muench. But being the sleuth semi-journalist I am, I found her now-inactive MySpace page. Assuming nothing has changed since her last login in October 2010, she likes orange juice with lots of pulp and Moulin Rouge. If that doesn’t sway you, nothing will. (722 E. (722 E. Tuesday, March 1: Cowboy Mouth at Potawatomi’s Northern Lights Theater, 8 p.m. ($15)

Fat Tuesday is still a week away. But New Orleans’ Cowboy Mouth kicks Mardi Gras off early by bringing its popular blend of brash Creole-inspired rock to Potawatomi. It’s no Cheap Trick, but casino-goers will just have to make the most of what they’re given. (1721 W. Canal St., PaysBig.com)

Wednesday, March 2: Merle Haggard and Kris Kristofferson at Potawatomi’s Northern Lights Theater, 8 p.m. ($55-$75)

Two of music’s most renowned names bring their massive catalog of country standards and decades of stage experience to the casino Cheap Trick single-handedly put on the map. What I’m getting at here is that Cheap Trick recently played a bunch of shows at Potawatomi and, for some reason, I find that to be humorous. (1721 W. Canal St., PaysBig.com)

Thursday, March 3: Here Come The Mummies at Turner Hall, 8 p.m. ($18)

Funk, mummies and dick jokes?!? You had me at “mummies.” (1032 N. Fourth St., PabstTheater.org)

Also: Cheap Time, Ramma Lamma, The White Faces at Cactus Club, 10 p.m. (2496 S. Wentworth Ave., CactusClubMilwaukee.com)

And: The Color Morale with Mechanical Kids, Like Moths to a Flame, Cain & Abel and They Came with Sirens at Miramar Theater, 6 p.m. ($8) – (2844 N. Oakland Ave., TheMiramarTheater.com)

I’m not going to try to spell it twice, but the band mentioned above is playing a CD release show. Ikarus Down opens. (2496 S. Wentworth Ave., CactusClubMilwaukee.com)

Also: The Atticus Metal Tour III with… a bunch of bands I’ve never heard of at The Rave, 5 p.m. ($17.50) – (2401 W. Wisconsin Ave., TheRave.com)
