Wednesday, November 26: 40 Oz. Night featuring Nustylez, Bizzon, and Kid Millions at Mad Planet, 9 p.m. ($5, free before 10 p.m.)

The 40 Oz. Night celebrates two things: West Coast hip hop and 40 oz. bottles of beer. Local DJs Nustylez, Bizzon and Kid Millions spin the tunes; Mad Planet provides the $5 PBR extra tall boys. (533 E. Center St, Mad-Planet.net)

Also: Flosstradamus with GTA, Curtis Williams and Two-9 at The Rave, 8 p.m. ($26.50-$94) – (2401 W. Wisconsin Ave., TheRave.com)

And: Nod to Bob: Bob Dylan Tribute at Linneman’s Riverwest Inn, 7 p.m. ($10, $5 with can of nonperishable food) – (1001 E. Locust St., Linnemans.com)

And: The Summertime Dudes with Hand of Doom (Black Sabbath tribute) at Club Garibaldi, 9 p.m. – (2501 S. Superior St., ClubGaribaldis.com)

Thursday, November 27: Happy Thanksgiving!

Friday, November 28: Get Rad with Assault and Battery and LIFES at Quarters Rock n’ Roll Palace, 9 p.m. ($5 or two canned food items)

‘Tis the season to give thanks. Quarters Rock ‘n Roll Palace hosts the Punx Give Thanx benefit show for Hunger Task Force the night after thanksgiving. The fundraiser marks the onstage return of local hardcore outfit Get Rad, who reunite for its first show in almost two years. (900 E. Center St.)

Also: U2 Zoo (U2 tribute) at Turner Hall Ballroom, 8 p.m. ($12)

There’s a good case for U2 being the most hated band in America. When the Irish lads released its latest album, Songs of Innocence, they made a secret deal with Apple to give it away for free. After the public announcement, the tracks showed up instantly on your device, suspiciously loaded into your iTunes player. People freaked out, but it probably had less to due with the cyber-intrusiveness than the fact no one really likes U2 anymore. Regardless of the culture’s majority opinion, the band still has enough fans to load gigantic stadiums. And its tribute bands can still fill mid-sized venues. (1032 N. Fourth St., PabstTheater.org)

And: Ace Frehley at The Northern Lights Theater, 9 p.m. ($25-$35) – (1721 W. Canal St., PaysBig.com)

And: Crunchy Kids with Samy Language and Klassik at Riverwest Public House, 9 p.m. ($5) – (815 E. Locust St., RiverwestPublicHouse.WordPress.com)

Saturday, November 29: Trans-Siberian Orchestra at the BMO Harris Bradley Center, 4 & 8 p.m. ($30-$69.50)

It’s become cliché to say that Christmas comes early every year—that’s because it does, every year. The clear standard should be to hold off on all décor until the dessert plates from that big November holiday are cleared, but that rule is constantly broken—we’re looking at you, already-set-up Grand Avenue Mall caroling stuffed bear display. For those holding off on all Christmas music before Thanksgiving, the progressive rock group Trans-Siberian Orchestra would provide a nice start to the Yuletide festivities. The orchestra plays symphonic rock versions of all the holiday classics. (1001 N. Fourth St., BradleyCenter.com)

Also: Sounds of Time (album release) with J Todd and Automatic at Cactus Club, 10 p.m.

And: Monotaur with Temple and MIGO at Riverwest Public House, 9 p.m. ($5) – (815 E. Locust St., RiverwestPublicHouse.WordPress.com)

And: Natty Nation with RAS Movement at Club Garibaldi, 9 p.m. – (2501 S. Superior St., ClubGaribaldis.com)

Sunday, November 30: Volcano Choir at Turner Hall Ballroom, 8 p.m. (SOLD OUT)

Fourteen months ago, Volcano Choir stormed through a cinematic, utterly awe-inspiring set at the Pabst Theater that focused on the masterful ebb and flow of their second album, Repave. The band returns to Milwaukee on Sunday night to ceremoniously close out their tour behind the record. Even though this time Volcano Choir plays the slightly smaller Turner Hall Ballroom, interest has hardly waned, as tickets to the performance sold out within a week. (1032 N. Fourth St., PabstTheater.org)
