Monday, July 25: Disaster Strikes with Get Rad and Burning Sons at Quarters Rock ‘n’ Roll Palace, 9:30 p.m.
Continuing with its recent trend, unassuming Quarters Rock ‘n’ Roll Palace has put together another remarkably enjoyable bill with some of the city’s best talent. This night shows Milwaukee hardcore mavens Get Rad and Burning Sons playing host to the touring Boston-based politically charged hardcore band Disaster Strikes. Sounds hardcore to me. (900 E. Center St.)
Tuesday, July 26: The Chris Robinson Brotherhood at Turner Hall, 8 p.m. ($18)
Fresh off the heels of the Black Crows 20th anniversary tour last year, Crows crooner Chris Robinson wasted no time getting back on the rock ‘n’ roll highway. The solo-ish effort from the always solidly bearded Robinson will not doubt feature new music. But don’t be surprised to hear people in the crowd yelling for “Hard to Handle,” and the band reluctantly obliging. (1032 N. Fourth St., PabstTheater.org)
Wednesday, July 27: Ted Leo and the Pharmacists with Tweak Bird and Call Me Lightning at Turner Hall, 8 p.m. ($14)
Just when you thought you were all festival-ed out, 91.7 WMSE socks you right in the gut with Radio Summer Camp. Not that I’m complaining, though, as this well-constructed fest spans five days and showcases some of the city’s finest local artists in some of the city’s best clubs.
If you can judge a festival by its kick-off show, this one should be amazing. Washington D.C.-based indie punk mainstays Ted Leo and the Pharmacists headline the Turner Hall shindig with local favorites Call Me Lightning officially kicking off the festivities.

Friday, July 29: Carbon Leaf with Giving Tree Band at Shank Hall, 8 p.m. ($20)
The really nice thing about Radio Summer Camp is the broad diversity of talent and venue on display. If hardcore isn’t your thing (Enabler at Cactus Club), spacey electronica doesn’t quite do it for you (All Tiny Creatures at Club Garibaldi) or melancholy folk isn’t your game (Heidi Spencer at Linneman’s), you still have options for Friday night. Maybe the soulful bluegrass strains of Virginia-based Carbon Leaf in the quaint, intimate Shank Hall setting is more your speed. (1434 N. Farwell Ave., ShankHall.com)
Also: Heidi Spencer and the Rare Birds with Daniel Martin Moore and Eddie Wheel at Linneman’s Riverwest Inn, 9 p.m. ($10)

Sunday, July 31: 2011 Backyard BBQ with The Budos Band, Whitey Morgan and the 78’s, Jambalaya Brass Band, Two Cow Garage, Will Phalen and The Uptown Savages at Cathedral Square Park, Noon
The festival ends as it began: Great local talent paired with quality national acts in a fitting setting for the styles involved. The Uptown Savages and Will Phalen get the Backyard BBQ (which also includes food, a custom car and bike show and youth side stage) started with a local feel then lend the stage to some very worthy out-of-towners. Instrumental experimentalists The Budos Band closes up shop Sunday night. (520 E. Wells St.)
