“…an enjoyable regression to Saturday mornings gone by…”

“lazy, sloppy multiplex filler…” Ty Burr, Boston Globe

The characters may be lost in this silly but mostly stupid comedy based on the ’70s Saturday-morning kids’ show, but it’s the film itself that never finds its comedic grounding. The ever-kooky Ferrell stars as Dr. Rick Marshall, a loony scientist that, despite his naysayers, time-travels to a land where the past, present and future are combined. Here dinosaurs, lizard creatures and primates run wild, resulting in overused and lame special effects. Matt Lauer has a funny cameo and there’s some occasional laughs, but it relies too much on Ferrell’s wild overacting and ridiculous gags. Too absurd for adults and too lewd for kids, Lost’s biggest feat will be finding an audience.
