For those of you who either fall into the classification of people who like free things or those who like good things, this will be welcome news to you both. Milwaukee’s own Faux Fir enlisted the help of seven other bands to take part in a unique project. Each band was assigned the task of remixing a Faux Fir’s track, which can be heard on “Second Pass,” a free offering.
Highlighted by Made of Oak’s absolutely astounding take on “Work Suite,” the album (at left) shows a different side of one of Milwaukee’s most undoubtedly underrated projects. Other bands involved in the remixing include adoptahighway, The Glamour, Cars & Trains, Bossanova 2600, The Harvey Girls, The Models and Holland Buffalo.
“Second Pass” is available on Faux Fir’s Bandcamp page free of charge or for a name-your-price download fee. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to listen to everything Faux Fir has ever released.
