Each year it seems like Black Friday sales start earlier, the discounts get deeper, and the freebies get more extravagant. For shoppers (both competitive and casual) the increasing incentives to shop are never a bad thing. From mainstream malls to boutiques, there are deals to be had and we hope to make it a little easier for you to hunt them down.

  • Boston Store and Kohl’s will open their doors at midnight on Nov. 23. To better compete with Walmart, which is opening at 6 a.m. on Thanksgiving, both locations will be open for a full 24 hours. r
  • The H&M in Brookfield Square will open at midnight as well and features “fashion finds” starting at $5. H&M will also have pre-Black Friday deals starting at $7 from Nov. 19 -Nov. 21.
  • Mayfair Mall is opens at 5 a.m. on Black Friday, but lists its retailers who open earlier here
  • Fred Boutique, known for its great Black Friday sales, doesn’t disappoint. From 3 a.m. to 9 a.m. everything is 50 percent off. From 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. everything in the store is 30 percent off. This includes clothing, as well as handbags and accessories. Owner Kotti Anderson says, “new arrivals will be
in before next Friday with full size runs and we retail everything under $100.”
  • Though it’s not exactly shopping, it definitely goes well with a shopper’s power lunch. Lakefront Brewery is releasing its Black Friday beer (a dark ale with a 10 percent ABV) for one day only, Nov. 23. And it’s only available at the brewery itself (1872 N. Commerce St.).
  • Metro Eye‘s Black Friday lasts all the way until Cyber Monday, and it’s offering a sweet treat for anyone in need of another pair of sunnies (or eye glasses!): for $50 you can purchase a $200 gift certificate (though it can’t be combined with insurance).
  • At Five Hearts you can sate your appetite for more than just deals. The store will have coffee and donuts for the early crowd, and the entire store is 25 percent off to boot.
  • If you can’t stagger out of bed at the crack of dawn on Friday, worry not. The Third Ward  is hosting a Small Business Saturday with more than 25 participating businesses, most of which are offering some sort deal or incentive – a free pair of earrings at Bangles & Bags with every purchase over $20? We’ll take it.
  • Gigi of Mequon will host a resale “from some of New York and Milwaukee’s most coveted closets” at its Gigi’s Rack location (right next door to the main Gigi). Proceeds from the sale will benefit pet-rescue organization Benji’s Home. The pop-up sale will last two weeks starting Black Friday.
  • Walk-in shoppers to Stephanie Horne Boutique will receive 20 percent off store-wide.
  • While not exactly Black Friday, beginning this week Next Door Boutique in Brookfield is offering coupons for $10 that can be redeemed for 50 percent off of one full-priced item.  The money raised by the sale of the coupons goes directly to purchase the yarn the sew-savvy Next Door staff uses to create scarves, shawls, ponchos and hats for Project Knitway, which distributes the knitwear to local shelters.
  • Join Flagship’s email list at iloveflagship.com, and you’ll be privy to the 30 percent off starting at 10 a.m. on Black Friday. For sustenance, we’re told there will be cocktails and possibly – and deliciously – tacos.
  • Best Buy, usually ripe with techie doorbusters, is at it again. This year’s offerings include  a Toshiba 40-inch LCD TV for $179.99, a Toshiba Blu-ray player for $39.99, and a Lenovo 15.6-inch laptop for $187.99.
  • And lastly, if you’re into bathroom humor, American Science & Surplus is offering a toilet bowl coffee mug for the first 50 customers. If this isn’t the first item on your holiday shopping list, I can’t imagine what is. Happy shopping!
