Marquette Theatre’s world premiere performance of In the Cities of Refuge opens this weekend. The play tells the story of residents and staff in a homeless shelter caught in a storm that will put their loyalties and lives to the test. The show starts at 7:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and 2:30 p.m. on Sunday. Tickets can be bought online.

2. Oktoberfest
ALL WEEKEND | CATHEDRAL SQUARE PARK
Celebrate Milwaukee’s German roots with bratwurst and beer at the city’s Oktoberfest. There will entertainment all weekend, including a Pink Floyd polka cover band and a wiener dog pageant show. Free beer will be available when the grounds open Friday at 4 p.m.

4. Korea Day at UWM
FRIDAY FROM 4:30-9:30 P.M. | ZELAZO CENTER FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS
The Korean American Faculty and Staff Association and Korean American Association of Milwaukee are hosting Korea Day 2024. The event starts at 4:30 p.m. with a variety of live performances, from K-pop to taekwondo demonstrations. The day will end with UWM Symphony Orchestra performing its first concert of the season with Korean soloist and pianist HaeSun Paik, who will perform Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto No. 1.
