9 Things to Do in Milwaukee Christmas Weekend: Dec. 23-25

A few movie screenings, the final weekend of beloved holiday performances and more make the list.

1. Miller Lite’s ‘Holiday Lites’ Drive-Up Show

ALL WEEKEND | FREDERICK MILLER’S PLANK-ROAD BREWERY

It’s the last weekend of Miller Lite’s time-honored holiday lights show! Shows start at 6 p.m., running five minutes each, until 10 p.m. Friday through Sunday. There will also be Chocolate Lager for online purchase and holiday gear available for pickup.

2. Season to Sparkle

FRIDAY AT 12 P.M. | BAYSHORE MALL

This year is Bayshore’s 3rd annual Season to Sparkle Holiday Celebration. Friday is the last day of the festivities with a live performance from Looping Cello from noon to 2 p.m.

3. Holiday Film Festival

FRIDAY AT 1 P.M. | W62 N567 WASHINGTON AVE., CEDARBURG

Get ready for Christmas by watching holiday classics in the newly restored Rivoli Theatre at the Holiday Film Festival. Friday will feature family favorites: The Polar Express, Elf and White Christmas. All film festival movie tickets are $4, and Rivoli only accepts cash or check.

4. Hot Chocolate with Santa

FRIDAY AT 5:30 P.M. | THE BIG BACKYARD

Enjoy some hot chocolate and let your kids tell Santa what they want for Christmas before he heads back to the North Pole! Admission is $8 or free with open-play admission.

5. Race the Grinch

FRIDAY AT 8 P.M. | ACCELERATE INDOOR SPEEDWAY MILWAUKEE

Win in a go-kart race against the Grinch to receive a present from his bag and get entered for a chance to win the daily prize, which on Friday is a PlayStation 5 console. 

6. Milwaukee Ballet’s The Nutcracker

FRIDAY AND SATURDAY | MARCUS CENTER FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS

It’s the 25th and final year of the current version of The Nutcracker before an all-new version of the production takes the stage in 2023, and this is the last weekend to catch the show. It features more than 150 dancers from around the world, including students from the Milwaukee Ballet School & Academy. 

7. A Christmas Carol

SATURDAY AT 12 P.M. | THE PABST THEATER

Saturday is the last day (until next year!) to catch one of the best-known and loved holiday stories at the Pabst Theater. Tickets are available online

8. Christmas Day Cinema: Spaceballs

SUNDAY AT 1 P.M. | JEWISH MUSEUM MILWAUKEE

Want a fun way to spend Christmas? Jewish Museum Milwaukee will be screening Spaceballs, the Mel Brooks spoof on Star Wars. And after the movie you can take a stroll around the permanent and special exhibits at the museum. Movie admission is free with ticket to the museum. 

9. Christmas Jingle Virtual Run

SUNDAY | VIRTUAL

Run a 5K, 10K, half-marathon or marathon virtually this Christmas with the Christmas Jingle Virtual Run. The virtual-only packet will feature a complete running-day experience sent to your inbox.
