1. Milwaukee VA’s Juneteenth Celebration

Milwaukee veterans and families are getting together for an afternoon of fun, with food trucks, vendors, games and more. Festivities will be held at the south entrance of the Milwaukee VA Medical Center. The event is free, and anyone is welcome.
2. Juneteenth Milwaukee’s Freedom Ball
JUNE 14 AT 6 P.M. | HARLEY DAVIDSON MUSEUM – THE GARAGE
This event celebrates Juneteenth Milwaukee’s mission of supporting equitable access to higher education, fostering academic excellence and cultivating impactful leaders. The ball includes a silent auction supporting the Juneteenth Pageant. Awards will be presented to community leaders.

3. America’s Black Holocaust Museum Juneteenth Celebration
JUNE 18-22 | AMERICA’S BLACK HOLOCAUST MUSEUM
This weekend full of activities is great for all ages. Activities include a talk about the history of Juneteenth and the flag’s meaning, activities for children ages 6-12 with the Betty Brinn Children’s Museum, a storytime, arts and crafts, live music and more. The museum will also be holding voter registration.
4. Juneteenth Milwaukee’s Jubilee Parade
JUNE 19 FROM 9 A.M.-4 P.M. | ATKINSON AVENUE TO M.L.K. DRIVE
Celebrate with the city at the 53rd annual Junteenth parade and celebration. The Milwaukee Bucks, Green Bay Packers, Milwaukee Brewers will be among the parade participants. And browse more than 300 vendors set to line King Drive, selling local food and products at the day-long celebration, which will last from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. The parade will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. A map of the parade route can be found on the website.
5. Juneteenth Community Cookout at the Villa
JUNE 19 FROM 11 A.M. TO 1 P.M. | VILLA TERRACE DECORATIVE ARTS MUSEUM
Enjoy an old-fashioned cookout with burgers, hot dogs and beverages in the Villa Terrace garden, along with lawn games and a scavenger hunt. Pay ahead of time online for $5 or at the venue for $10. Free admission for children under 4.
6. Juneteenth ’70s and ’80s Funk Party
JUNE 19 AT 6 P.M. | THE COOPERAGE
Located at 822 S. Water St., celebrate Juneteenth at the Cooperage music hall and event space, with live music sponsored by ACA Entertainment. Listen to the Best of Earth, Wind and Fire with other funky party guests. Tickets are $20, and the doors open at 7 p.m.
7. America’s Black Holocaust Museum Book Club: On Juneteenth

Join members of America’s Black Holocaust Museum for their next book discussion. For the month of June, the club will be reading On Juneteenth by Annette Gordon Reed. Visit the website for access to the meeting QR code.
8. Milwaukee’s Juneteenth Gospel Fest 2024
JUNE 22 AT NOON | HART PARK AT THE ROTARY STAGE
Listen to live gospel music by local groups and choirs alongside food and product vendors at Gospel Fest. Spoken word, community resources, health screenings and community leader recognition will all be part of the afternoon in the park. The event is free to attend, and all are welcome.
9. Juneteenth Milwaukee’s Concert Series
EVERY SATURDAY FROM JUNE 22 TO AUGUST 31 FROM 2-6 P.M. | CLINTON E. AND BERNICE K. ROSE PARK
This open-air concert series features local and national talent all summer long. The concerts are all focused around the theme “Celebrate culture of yesterday, today and tomorrow.” A list of performing artists can be found on the website.
