8 Ways You Can Still Celebrate Pride This Month

Pride Month is far from over! Here’s how to keep the celebration going post-Pride Fest.

1. LGBT milWALKee App Tour  

AVAILABLE NOW | MULTIPLE LOCATIONS

Take a walk through Milwaukee’s LGBT history with this new app. LGBT milWALKee has created a mobile app that tells the history of local LGBTQ+ people, organizations and events through physical sites mapped into virtual walking tours.

2. Turn Up the Pride Event

JUNE 17 FROM 6-8 P.M. | PUSH FITNESS MKE   

Dance for a cause with a class with Turn Up MKE Dance Fitness. The classes are made for everyone and incorporate HIIT, strength, and dance. All proceeds will be donated to Courage MKE, a movement to provide housing, resources and services needed for displaced and homeless LGBTQ+ youth in Milwaukee to thrive. If dancing for fitness is not your thing, donations are accepted.

3. Moonlight Showing

JUNE 18 AT 7 P.M. | ORIENTAL THEATER  

This 2017 Academy award-winning film is the story of a young man’s struggle to find himself. A coming-of-age story told in three chapters, he grapples with his own sexuality and the difficulties that come with growing up.  

4. Kenosha Pride Fundraiser

JUNE 18 AT 7 P.M. | INMOXICATED  

Have fun while you raise funds to support Kenosha Pride 2022 taking place on July 10. The evening will include a raffle, a drag show, and drink specials.    

5. Nationwide Pride Bar Crawl  

JUNE 18 FROM 4 P.M.-MIDNIGHT | MULTIPLE LOCATIONS 

Participate with the LGBTQ+ community in a nationwide Pride Bar Crawl. The hosts, Crawl with US, plan bar crawls in major cities across the country on the same night to celebrate Pride Month. Join the crawl from 4 -10.p.m., and stick around for the afterparty. Tickets waive all cover fees include two drinks, swag, and more. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Trevor Project.  

6. Butterfly Collective MKE Presents: La Gayla

JUNE 26 AT 7 P.M. | SUGAR MAPLE  

Butterfly Collective MKE is hosting its first-ever “Gayla.” There will be special performances, local vendors, each ticket come with a free drink and a raffle ticket. All ticket proceeds will go directly toward fundraising for Black and Brown trans and gender-nonconforming individuals in the city of Milwaukee.  

7. A Staycation With the Rainbow Reign Package

THROUGH JUNE 30 | SAINT KATE – THE ARTS HOTEL  

Saint Kate’s is offering a Rainbows Reign package to celebrate Pride Month. The package includes plush overnight accommodations, complimentary self-parking, and a rainbow tote filled with a coffee table book on the history of drag and edible art cookies showcasing work by one of the featured artists.  

8. Queer Mythologies: Transabstractions Exhibit

THROUGH JULY 17 | THE GALLERY AT SAINT KATE – THE ARTS HOTEL  

This exhibit by Nykoli Koslow, a Milwaukee-based artist, pulls from ancient history, mythology, religion, and mysticism to anchor the feelings of being in a Trans* body into a Queer mythic cosmology. Koslow visualizes Queerness through his own lived experience as well as research-based reinterpretations of his own cultural and religious history.
