Sahale Ale Works

7 Beer Events Brewing in Milwaukee This Week: Dec. 1-6

A beer release or two and an outdoor beer fest, it’s true, highlight a busy week for beer lovers.

Tuesday, Dec. 1

The second release of Third Space Brewing’s Deconstructed Dessert is ready for presale. Barrel-aged Mocha Pie: The Chocolate won’t be released until Dec. 12, but order as soon as you can because it will likely sell out quickly.

Thursday, Dec. 3

Ray’s Wine & Spirits is hosting a virtual beer school from 5 to 6:30 p.m. to benefit the Movember Foundation. Ray’s beer expert Rob Zellermayer hosts a conversation that includes reps from Third Space, 3 Sheeps, Lion’s Tail, New Glarus, Bell’s and Sierra Nevada. Pick up a six-pack with a beer each from the participants for just $19.99 at Ray’s. $10 of that goes to the Movember Foundation.

Friday, Dec. 4

1840 Brewing Company (342 E. Ward St.) is releasing Tell Her It’s For Creed, a fruited sour inspired by peach cobbler. Presale is from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Pickup is from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday and noon to 5 p.m. on Saturday.

Saturday, Dec. 5

Beer fests aren’t dead. Sahale Ale Works (1505 Wisconsin Ave., Grafton) is hosting The Little Outdoor Big Beer Fest on its patio from noon to 4 p.m. Several Wisconsin breweries are participating and bringing beers that are bigger than 10% ABV, including a few barrel-aged varieties like Lakefront Brewery’s Small Tank Series Imperial Pumpkin aged in rum barrels. Sahale will have not just one, but a few of its rarities available too. Three-ounce samples as $3 or you can try four samples for $10. Proceeds benefit Family Sharing of Ozaukee County.

Gathering Place Brewing releases The Wonderworker Winter Biere de Garde and a 2019 Wonderworker aged in wine barrels. The brewery is also offering a festive Holiday Bundle that includes both bottles of The Wonderworker, a gingerbread man from National Bakery and a few Flying-Ts (aka: turtles) from Burke Candy. Presale starts Wednesday (Dec. 2) at 8 p.m.

The Fermentorium (7481 State Rd. 60, Cedarburg) is hosting a Pop-Up Holiday Art Sale from noon to 7 p.m. on Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday. Find some gifts and treat yourself to a beer or two.

Sunday, Dec. 6

Online orders for MobCraft’s Stout Fest close on Sunday, so be sure to get yours in. The virtual event takes place on Zoom at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 12. But order your bundles ahead of time to be sure you’re ready. There are more than a few barrel-aged gems to choose from as well as stouts that haven’t spent time in a barrel.
