5 Things to Do in Milwaukee This Weekend: Aug 21-23

A new brew, live music and good eats this weekend in Milwaukee.

1. Black is Beautiful Beer Release

THURSDAY-SUNDAY | 135 E. PITTSBURGH AVE. 

Broken Bat Brewing Company is releasing their version of Black is Beautiful, an imperial stout meant to bring attention to racial injustice. The beer’s limited release is already sold out on their website, so you’ll have to stop by the brewery to try it for yourself. All sales of Black is Beautiful will be donated to the Milwaukee Freedom Fund.

2. Support Small Business Market

SATURDAY FROM 10 A.M.-3 P.M. | 407 N. HAWLEY RD.

The Storyhill FireHouse is bringing together 18 local vendors for this outdoor marketplace. Entry is free, and there will be pizza and a signature cocktail for sale.

3. Live Music by The Verdict 

SATURDAY FROM NOON-3 P.M. | 11310 W. SILVER SPRING RD.

Stop by the Harley-Davidson dealership for live rock ‘n’ roll by local band The Verdict and enjoy a free beer and free sub sandwich (while supplies last).

4. Bublr Bash

SATURDAY FROM 5-9 P.M. | VIRTUAL EVENT

This free livestream from Milwaukee’s favorite bike-share program features some of the city’s best musical artists. The event is also a fundraiser to help Bublr continue providing sustainable and accessible transportation.

5. Food & Wine Extravaganza

SATURDAY FROM 6-9 P.M. | 944 N. 33RD ST.

Check out Lisa Kaye Catering’s fifth annual food and wine tasting event, highlighting dishes by some of Milwaukee’s best chefs. The event also benefits Milwaukee’s Kids Culinary Education Program. You can buy tickets here.
