5 Things To Do in Milwaukee This Weekend: Aug 14-16

Fair food, festival fun and frozen fare this weekend in Milwaukee.

1. Fair Food Drive-Thru

THURSDAY-SUNDAY | S. 76TH ST. & W. PIERCE ST.

This weekend is your last chance to get a taste of the State Fair foods we’re all missing this year. Cream puffs, giant pretzels, deep-fried oreos and more are on the menu — get them now or forever hold your piece (until next year, that is).

2. Milwaukee Irish Fest at Home

THURSDAY-SUNDAY | VIRTUAL EVENT

The iconic Celtic festival can’t happen in person this year, but this livestream will bring many of the festivities into your own home. Segments will include music, cultural awareness, cooking, happy hours, family entertainment and more. It’s free to watch, but donations are appreciated.

Enjoy a night out and some live jazz music with this visiting band from Madison with a specialty in Chicago-style blues.

4. What’s the Scoop?

SATURDAY FROM 10 A.M-4 P.M. | 825 N. JEFFERSON ST.

You won’t want to miss Milwaukee’s largest ice cream social. Featuring eight local frozen dessert vendors and other small businesses, this event serves up sweet treats with a side of Milwaukee pride.

5. Dog Days at Lynden

SATURDAY FROM 10 A.M-5 P.M. | 2145 W. BROWN DEER RD.

See some of Milwaukee’s best sculptures with your dog by your side. Picnicking is also encouraged.
