The latest iteration, Civilization VI, is $60 on the gaming platform Steam. But the now 15-year-old Civ IV gives great bang for your buck at $20, and if you’re really pinching pennies or have flexible ethics, you can download the 1991 original or 1996’s Civ II (which still plays pretty great today) for free in sketchier parts of the web.
