5 Things to Do in Milwaukee This Week: July 6-9

1. Milwaukee Art Museum Online Art Camps: Painting From Nature 

MON.-FRI. FROM 10:30 A.M.-12:30 P.M.; 1:30-3:30 P.M.

Milwaukee Art Museum is offering online art classes for children ages 6-15 during this summer of quarantine. This week, check out this class on painting nature where your child can take inspiration from your backyard.  

2. Vegan Burger Bar & Corn Roast 

TUESDAY FROM 4-8 P.M.

Head over to Alice’s Garden Urban Farm and enjoy some vegan food from Vegan Soul, including a burger bar featuring unique toppings like candied jalapenos, guacamole, and pickled onions. Pre-orders are encouraged.

3. Lawn Bowling Lessons 

TUESDAY AT 6 P.M.

Take some time to learn a new skill! Milwaukee Lake Park Lawn Bowling Association holds lawn bowling lessons every Tuesday evening through August. All you need to bring are flat-soled shoes, a mask, and be sure to wear comfortable clothes. 

4. Sweet Corner Ice Cream Fundraiser 

WEDNESDAY FROM 11 A.M.-10 P.M.

Sweet Corner is hosting a fundraiser for the Kenosha Relay for Life at both of the Sweet Corner locations, one on 60th St. and the other on 14th St. Sweet Corner will be handing out free ice cream to all cancer survivors who stop by during the day and will be collecting donations as well. 

5. How to Read and Use a Map 

WEDNESDAY FROM 6-6:30 P.M.

UWM University Recreation is hosting an event for those of us who want to learn how to read a map and use it properly. Peggie, one of the trip and rentals managers at Outdoor Pursuits, will walk you through all the key information during this online program.
