5 Things to Do in Milwaukee This Week: Feb. 24-27

It’s another busy week in Milwaukee. Here are some of our favorite events.

1.) Celebrate Mardi Gras

Check Guide For Locations and Times

Celebrate Mardi Gras Milwaukee style! We found eight events that will prove you don’t have to be in New Orleans to be a part of the party.

2.) Swing Jazz Wednesday w/ The Sweet Sheiks

Pabst Milwaukee Brewery & Taproom (1037 W. Juneau Ave.) | Wednesday At 9 p.m.

Good drinks, yummy eats and don’t forget your dancing shoes. As an added bonus, the show is free.

3.) Candlelight Walk

Downer Woods (Downer and Edgewood Ave.) | Thursday At 6 p.m.

Gather ’round the campfire and drink hot cocoa before going on a relaxing stroll through the woods. There’s a suggested donations of $5 for individuals and $10 for a family. The proceeds cover the cost of the event and a scholarship fund.

4.) World Gin Tasting

Shully’s Cuisine and Events (143 Green Bay Rd., Thiensville) | Thursday At 6 p.m.

Learn about how Gin is made from all around the world. Not to mention there will be small snacks!

5.) Gretal!

Milwaukee Youth Arts Center (325 W. Walnut St.) | Check Website For Dates and Times

Your not-so-average folktale about Hansel and Gretel, re-imagined with Vasilisa the Brave, the Russian Cinderella. If you’re into empowering female protagonists, then this is an experience you will want to bring your entire family to watch.
