1. Book Talk and Wisconsin Cocktails

WEDNESDAY AT 6 P.M. | 616 W. VIRGINIA ST. 

Great Lakes Distillery is hosting a Wisconsin Cocktails evening by bringing in author Jeanette Hurt to talk about her latest book, Wisconsin Cocktails. She will join Brenden Cleary from Great Lakes Distillery to talk about the cocktails that made our state. The event includes three cocktails and a copy of Hurt’s book. Tickets are $45. 

2. Donut Smackdown

THURSDAY AT 3 P.M.| ONLINE EVENT

This is Zizzo Group Engagement Marketing’s fourth-annual Donut Smackdown to raise support for the United Way of Greater Milwaukee and Waukesha County. Ten Milwaukee Businesses will battle for the coveted title for champion by eating six donuts as fast as they can. But that’s not all, you help decide the winner. Every dollar you donate counts as a vote, and there’s no limit.

3. A Christmas Carol 

MULTIPLE SHOWTIMES | ONLINE EVENT

This show is a Milwaukee tradition. Through Dec. 24, the Milwaukee Rep is providing free links to watch the 2016 show. If you are taking advantage of this opportunity, consider making a donation to the theater group, which has seen significant challenges throughout the pandemic. 

4. The Two Gentlemen of Verona

MULTIPLE SHOWTIMES | ONLINE EVENT

The award-winning Young-Company is presenting one of William Shakespeare’s earliest and least-performed plays. It is available to stream at various showtimes through Dec. 14. Ticket prices vary based on how many viewers will be in attendance. 

5. Mitchell Park Domes Poinsettia Promenade

MULTIPLE DATES | 524 S. LAYTON BLVD. 

This holiday show brings together poinsettias in a festive way. You’ll see classic red and white flowers showcased near rare varieties in golds and pinks. For physical distancing, event organizers have created one-way routes and a new reservation system so that you can hold your time slot. Masks are required.
